Sunset Plane Ride

Artist: Renee Coppock
Location: Zonta Club of Billings District 12 Montana, USA

Ice crystals dance in a cold ballet,

Blanketing slopes, a pristine display.

Yet, warming breaths from the skies above,

Steal the magic, erase winter’s glove.

Glaciers weep as temperatures rise,

In the alpine realm, where silence lies.

Snowpack, once robust, a vital shroud,

No fades away, no longer proud.

Rivers yearn for the mountain’s gift,

A snowy bounty, their spirits lift.

Yet the snows recede, ghostly white,

Leaving parched lands to morning light.

Pine trees mourn, their branches light,

With memories of snowfall, pure and bright.

Yet the seasons shift, a somber tune,

As warming whispers steal winter’s boon.

Oh, climate’s tale, a warning clear,

As snowpacks swindle, drawing near.

Let hearts unite, in nature’s plea,

To save the snow, and let them be.
